Scrypt · Satoshi’s Study

What is Satoshi’s Study?

Satoshi’s Study is a shelf of digital books published by Scrypt. Each edition takes an old or difficult text, sets the original language facing the English where the source allows, adds a table of contents and a foreword, and carries hand-written notes in the margin. Where no good English exists, the house translates from the source language itself.

Editions are ePub files, delivered by email. The Study publishes five a month, and you can read it by the month or take the whole shelf for the year.

Releases 31 October 2026

The first five editions

  • Fragments — Heraclitus

All 136 fragments in the Diels–Kranz order, newly translated from the Greek by the house, Greek and English facing.

  • Dæmonologie — King James VI and I, 1597

All three books and the Preface, in the spelling of the 1597 printing.

  • The Kybalion — Three Initiates, 1908

The fifteen chapters of the Hermetic text, with notes in the margin that argue with it.

  • The Prophecies, Century I — Nostradamus

All hundred quatrains with the English of the 1672 translator and his own annotations beneath each.

  • Roussat — Richard Roussat, Lyon 1550

The Livre de l’estat et mutation des temps, set from the 1559 printing, newly translated into English by the house — the source of the planetary ages Nostradamus drew on.
